ARKADTEKNISKA HÖGSKOLAN, ATHWhatATH is swedish, and stands for ArkadTekniska Högskolan, which roughly translated means University of Arcade Technology. It was inofficially founded 1993 by a small group of students at the Helsinki university of Technology (HUT) who all for the moment are members of the swedish student union TF (more swedish text). WhereATH is a ´club´ functioning within TF, and is open to anybody interested in video or computer games. WhyATH`s main function is to make research in various games, searching for the optimal game-algorithm. This is usually misinterpertated as waste of time by those, who for example, haven`t experienced the such demanding games as DooM, which involves complicated social-economical models in the form of ammo and number of monsters left. ATH has also supplied equipment vital for a full-ended studies. These inlcude soundcards and hearphones. Lately an attempt of building a CD-Rom library has met some problems, in form of theft. What elseThe main happening of spring ´95 for ATH was the TF-DooM Cup where the members of TF could play Deathmatch against each other threeways in the virtual location of the TF-building. We also arranged another TF-DooM Cup autumn ´95, as a part of a larger happening arranged by Kalkonklubben, where we had a two-on-two deathmatch additionally to the threeway deathmatch. Here is the wad in zip-format. (1460 kb) Within ATH there is Clan Aesir, a Quake-clan. In addition to playing the clan-members are deeply burrowed in hacking Quake. Also ATH owns a server, which runs Quake 24 h per day. ATH has a ongoing, in Finland worldfamous, joint adventure project with Kalkonklubben (more swedish text), called ´Chopper´
